We missed the "daytime" kiwis but came back after nighfall to see kiwis at their natural time of day, It was pretty exciting to wait for the darkness, listen to them waking up and scratching about and then see them wandering about their enclosure. This was actually one of the best things I did on N Island. They have other... More

Lovely morning spent at Rainbow springs. They have a great set up and if your aim is to see Kiwi's whilst in NZ this is the place .. there is an enclosure that is darkened during the day for you to view one or two kiwi's but Rainbow springs go the extra mile and open the park at night for... More

It was a wet day, but wanted to see a Kiwi. The birds are worth seeing & we did get to see some Kiwi's, & even though they were difficult to see, we realize they are in their natural environment. It was too wet for the water area but kids would enjoy it on a better day. We also saw... More

What a great tour! It is a must see in NZ. We learned so much about Kiwi birds. These birds are incredible and the people taking care of them are amazing.

We popped over the road from the luge to view this attraction. Another revisit from my childhood. Good attraction for a couple or family. The aviary is cool with a good variety of birds. I can recommend the ride too .... and you don't get too wet.... not really....

Came here to do the kiwi behind the scenes with my 6 year old. Saw a 2 day old kiwi up close... very cool. Great place to be on a sunny day as there is heaps of shade and free spring water. My daughter also loved the bird show, which showcased some beautiful and intelligent birds. Can come and go... More

Really impressed with the facilities, nice and relaxing stroll with lots to learn about native flora and fauna and some not so native. The Big Splash ride is really well done and the additional Kiwi Encounter is a must.

The park has lots to offer. Education and fun all in one! Be sure to go on the Big Splash ride. It's not too scary so almost everyone could go on it. There's a great commentary as you ride....and I've never been in a boat elevator before!!! Lots on offer in the gift shop too.

I have a family pass, which we did use most weekends, the last two attempts of using this card have really upset me, first attempt was a Halloween, unknown to use it was going to cost us to enter as they had a special weekend on. (we can understand this and let it go and went else were) the next... More
