For those who are into walking though garden areas the Te Henui Cemetery, New Plymouth is a pleasant experience with the different native birds ( Fantail's, Wood Pigeons, Tui's), and a band of volunteers who are improving the garden/grave site areas with clearing & replanting.

A lovely place to visit if you want to 'meet' the settlers of New Plymouth. My grandparents 'live' there with several members of their family. I'd recommend it if you want to fill in time and just look at the old gravestones.

It is cared for by volunteers who are doing an excellent job. So full of trees and plants, a lovely cemetery. Also in talking to one of the volunteers, she was able to point me in the direction of my ancestors. Fascinating. Well done volunteers
