Utterly spectacular 11km long walkway along the seafront in New Plymouth, New Zealand. Walk, ride skate or scoot from Bell Block in the north to Port Taranaki to the south taking in the stunning Te Rewa Rewa Bridge, three swimming beaches, a golf club, rolling farm land, rivers and various accessways to residential and shopping areas.

On returning to New Plymouth after 16 years away, I was blown away by the coastal walkway. Exactly what the city needed! Fantastic views of the mountain with the waves crashing against the rocks. Gorgeous!

Nice and chill walk along the coast, the bridge is very special and a great work of art. Also good for biking, running etc. Really easy and flat, and not full on at all.

Do yourself a favour when in New Plymouth - go for a walk - even on a wild west coast day - this is a great facility stretching for 13 (I think) kilometres along the coast - well graded and signed and suitable for prams...More

Stunning scenery of surf and land. A marvellous work from Council, as is the Len Lye Centre, and the New Plymouth Museum . Also the Visitor Centre at Nth MT Taranaki with walking tracks for young and old.

Yes although we had our own bikes we saw several people/groups with hired bikes I am aware there is a place you can hire them at the port end of the walkway.
