Paritutu Rock would be a great outing and adventure for all if the trail was safe and the city did the right thing and demolished the huge ugly smokestack right beside it.

If you're reasonably fit and excited by the prospect of a little adventure, embark on a terrific short climb for about 20 minutes for fantastic 360 degree views of New Plymouth, up and down the coast and the Sugar Loaf coast. Very rewarding.
