This lovely walkway is adjacent to the (main) coastal walkway. The walkway meanders alongside a tranquil stream with lots of ferns and birdlife. Several path options are available from under 20 minutes to around an hour or so. Pathway not sealed but safe to walk...More

More NZ cities should have a walkway like this. It's super smooth so ideal for bikes, proms, scooters, wheelchairs, and right next to the sea. Especially good on a wild day!

Such a pretty picture as the blooms appear. The tulips are amazing and the Kereru are loving the magnolia buds.

Anyone visiting New Plymouth should walk the part of the Te Henui walkway which travels past the Te Henui Cemetery. The latter is well worth a visit as it full of beautiful flowers and trees.

Cycling through from Cumberland Street down to the Coastal Walkway is one of my favourites, listening to the Tuis warbling in the trees, in Spring the blossoms, Summer the shade and glinting stream, Autumn has colour and even Winter has beautiful sunlight on an angle...More

5.9 km. Council website says 2 hours return. There are multiple entry/exit points so easy to do as much or as little as you want.
