The walkway, for me, is a hidden gem. Not far from where we live and a great alternative for a walk to town. It's a peaceful & picturesque walk. Takes you past the old New Plymouth prison and in to town.

New Plymouth has several cycle hire shops and the walkways are very suited for cycle use, some of them are connected to enable a full day of cycling around the city. Which is what we did. The walkways are very pretty, follow streams and connect...More

Unlike Te Henui Walkway, the Huatoki Walkway isn't a continuous walkway but requires a bit of on-roading in a couple of places due to previous slips requiring some diversions, which have been made permanent. However it's worth the effort for walking from the central city...More
