This is a lovely place to go for a walk just outside the New Plymouth city limits. There are picnic tables at the entrance near the carpark, but unfortunately they do not allow dogs, even on a leash.

An amazing walk in the bush among the Nikau Palms with plenty of signs to explain the trees. The paths are easy walking - a few steeper parts but a great walk.

An easy walk which is not far from the city centre. The name of the reserve is intriguing and the placard at the entry of the reserve is most informative on this

I was so surprised when we arrived here, it was so greenforesty and lush. We actually had fun swinging on some vines into the forest. Theres a little waterfall that we missed at first. Its about 45 minutes to do the loop. It would be...More
