We visited on a cool, misty morning. Craters of moon was a relatively new attraction and it wasn't busy. Steam rose from numerous fume roles around the site, adding to the misty air. In the silence you can hear the steam escaping from the ground....More

Having visited Craters of the Moon National Monument in Idaho, I was not sure what to expect in New Zealand. The board walks and hot pots were reminiscent of what you might see in Yellowstone Park. The colors are interesting and the steam vents play...More

This is a wonderful way to spend a couple of hours. Long interesting walk to see the thermal wonders and a bus back. Highlight is a geyser that is only active once a day so check when this occurs before going.

Went to visit this attraction, we weren't sure what to expect as we had seen mixed reviews. We totally loved it, was a great attraction to see and would recommend it to all.

On a dull afternoon with some light rain Craters of the Moon was a pleasant if undramatic walk - there is plenty of geothermal activity and the walking track is well maintained.

Nothing particularly special but an interesting little stroll if you have an hour to kill. Not a must see.

An interesting walk around the geothermal pools . A bit of sulfur smell but nothing unbearable. It was nice to see all of the steam although I wish I could have seen more bubbling pools

Visited today and although the weather wasn't fabulous, it was a lovely walk and really interesting. The steam and mud pool was so cool. Super good value at $8 for an adult.

I am beginning to think you must be blind? "Craters of the Moon" is the title of my post in response to yours under the same heading!
