Find out why 36 million New Zealanders can't be wrong. Okay, so there's a few tourists in there too. But that's how many passengers Interislander has carried over the Cook Strait since our first sailing in 1962.

Cruise from Wellington to Picton in the stunning Marlborough Sounds in just over three hours on the three largest Cook Strait ferries in New Zealand.

Extensive viewing decks, luxurious premium lounges and choice of cafes and bars. Plenty to keep the kids entertained - and plenty for mum and dad too.

Cars, motorhomes, coaches- all vehicles are welcome, just drive on, drive off. And for the rental car providers that can't cross, just drop off your car at the rental depots based at the terminals then walk onboard - easy!

Interislander's been doing this for over 50 years, so you know you are in good hands. And with eleven sailings per day, our timetable is bound to fit yours.

Don't just cross the Strait, cruise it with Interislander and make your perfect holiday, perfect from the very start.

The ferry was three or so ours late due to a. Broken sewage system on the boat . It can't be helped but it was super inconvenient it took a long time until any explanation was announced . Being a weekend the mechanic had to drive a long way to get to the boat. I had multiple mixed messages from... More

I have never been on a ferry with a vehicle before and was amazed how straightforward it all was. We got there nice and early and were boarded in order before the ferry set off. Very well organised and the ferry itself was very comfortable with amazing scenery and a well stocked canteen area. It was a longer journey than... More

If you can have stress free travel, then this is probably as close as it gets. Check-in was as easy as remembering your name. Some people just love to queue so let them, plenty of room on board for everyone! Chill out and enjoy the journey through the narrow straits past Arapawa Island and the brilliantly named Bay of many... More

Travelled from NZ North to South Islands. The weather was glorious so was lovely on upper deck, provided you could secure a seat. We went to lower deck for some quieter space, but was hard to find 2 seats together let alone in peace. Only way to get from one side to the other, so grin and bear it.

Good trip to travel between north and south islands. I was fortunate to travel from Nelson to Wellington in the afternoon. The views are amazing and if you are lucky you will have dolphins riding the waves as you leave Nelson

My wife and I had a good crossing yesterday. Dropping off rental car and checking process was very smooth. Comfortable seating and good food in thre premier lounge which in our view is worth the 45 dollar payment each. Good views, especially as you sail through the Marlborough sounds. Very enjoyable.

Ticketing and access were all very straightforward - we had booked online from England. We were lucky with the weather and had a smooth crossing from Picton to Wellington. We sat outside for most of the crossing as it was sunny and warm so we didn't use any of the many facilities other than to buy a coffee. The scenery... More

All went as expected. Everyone we dealt with was courteous and friendly. Luggage check and retrieval was quick and easy. We booked the premium lounge. The service was freindly, the food was good and the lounge comfortable, I'm not sure that it was worth the price. We would probably pass on that if we were to take the ferry again.

As we arrived early we were able to take the previous ferry without any problems. The young lady at the check in was very pleasant and helpful. we were able to leave our big suitcases with her. Embarking was quick and well organised. As we had booked to be in the lounge as soon as we arrived on the ferry... More
