Find out why 36 million New Zealanders can't be wrong. Okay, so there's a few tourists in there too. But that's how many passengers Interislander has carried over the Cook Strait since our first sailing in 1962.

Cruise from Wellington to Picton in the stunning Marlborough Sounds in just over three hours on the three largest Cook Strait ferries in New Zealand.

Extensive viewing decks, luxurious premium lounges and choice of cafes and bars. Plenty to keep the kids entertained - and plenty for mum and dad too.

Cars, motorhomes, coaches- all vehicles are welcome, just drive on, drive off. And for the rental car providers that can't cross, just drop off your car at the rental depots based at the terminals then walk onboard - easy!

Interislander's been doing this for over 50 years, so you know you are in good hands. And with eleven sailings per day, our timetable is bound to fit yours.

Don't just cross the Strait, cruise it with Interislander and make your perfect holiday, perfect from the very start.

This was just too easy. A nice 3 1/2 hour cruise from north to south. Beautiful views. Relaxed atmosphere. Surprised at how inexpensive the food was. The full breakfast was great! Didn't even need to use the movie theatre, as it was pleasant enough just to sit and relax. Just a tip, grab a table and chairs and don't leave... More

At first; dropping your car means park it and drop the key on a Dropbox in the termination hall. Do not look for offices. Second: luggage is handled as on airports. So pack your things tied. No one told us in advance. The crossing of Cook Straight is well organized. Enough food and beverages on board. Skip your early and... More

The wellington end of the trip doesn't look very flash, then there is the trip through Wellington harbour all nice and calm. Next step is the Cook strait could be a millpond or very angry. Hang on for this part of the journey then enjoy the trip through the sounds. Make sure you get on deck. If you are coming... More

First class service and ship. Far superior to Channel and Irish sea crossings. Friendly and helpful staff who appear to take pride in their work.

Locating the ferry and returning our rental car was very easy as the car is indentured right at the terminal . There was plenty of available seating of all types once on board both indoors, in observation rooms, cafeterias, and outdoors. The ship was clean and we left and arrived on schedule.

We took two trips on the ferry. The first one we booked the Premium Room for comfort and internet. NEITHER HAPPENED! No internet at all. when we asked the staff they just shrugged their shoulders and were" Yah sometimes its not goo"!!!! Then the food - chicken legs, rice, sandwiches and a scone .... That was it - DISGUSTING. On... More

We were first in line to load. The crew managed, however logistically challenging, to let us off the ferry dead last after breathing truck exhaust for good 30 minutes. That's the main impression of this otherwise uneventful ride 26 hours before the earthquake.
