Find out why 36 million New Zealanders can't be wrong. Okay, so there's a few tourists in there too. But that's how many passengers Interislander has carried over the Cook Strait since our first sailing in 1962.

Cruise from Wellington to Picton in the stunning Marlborough Sounds in just over three hours on the three largest Cook Strait ferries in New Zealand.

Extensive viewing decks, luxurious premium lounges and choice of cafes and bars. Plenty to keep the kids entertained - and plenty for mum and dad too.

Cars, motorhomes, coaches- all vehicles are welcome, just drive on, drive off. And for the rental car providers that can't cross, just drop off your car at the rental depots based at the terminals then walk onboard - easy!

Interislander's been doing this for over 50 years, so you know you are in good hands. And with eleven sailings per day, our timetable is bound to fit yours.

Don't just cross the Strait, cruise it with Interislander and make your perfect holiday, perfect from the very start.

Great premium plus lounge except lousy WiFi

Decided to upgrade to premium lounge as it had free WiFi and decent seating etc. Unfortunately the WiFi just didn't work. The food, coffee and seating was good though.

Smooth sailing! Great on board facilities. Would love to see a few more seats put in as we had to wait quite awhile to find a comfortable place to sit and relax. All the staff are really friendly and helpful

Clean, comfortable and well equipped ship which left and arrived on time. Good food on board. Wifi which was bit slow. Entertainment plus a cinema on board.

There was plenty of room on both ships but do feel the movie charge is a joke. The food was average and plenty choices. If you can get the timings right go on Kaitaki as it is a more modern ship with more comfortable seating.

Traveled from Picton to Wellington last Sunday afternoon. It's a great way to travel with amazing views and nice food. But best of all was the passenger announcement for Hugh Janus, whose brother Liam was looking for him at reception. Hilarious and full marks for the prankster.

Drive on, find a seat, eat and enjoy the view. Everything was so easy from driving on to the ferry all the way to driving off. Once on board we paid $20 extra for a more comfortable seat in a closed off area but this also included a $15 voucher for food, so realistically we only paid $5 for the... More

Booked using their website and traveled on New Year's Day. Check in was easy, well organised with plenty of announcements. Food on board was slow, especially Coffee. We took a cabin given the crossing was in rainy weather so no view. Comfortable and was able to sleep for a couple of hours

We enjoyed the trip. The star was the scenery as the restaurants were overcrowded and the breakfast mediocre. They did serve lovely scones midway through the journey, and if you were willing to wait in line at the coffee bar it was quite good. The best part was definitely hanging out on the viewing deck, keeping an eye out for... More

If you ever get the chance then take a trip on the interislander. On a sunny day the views are spectacular and photo opportunities abound. There are lots of things to eat and drink, a little expensive but saves the hassle of worrying about early breakfasts or lunch. Hey even came round with a tray of freshly baked scones and... More
