The owner was lovely and greeted our family. We spent time to look at he tea's and gorgeous accessories/tea sets etc brilliant. At first thought a bit odd it did not look like a yum char place the food was average but cheap enough the scones were really nice

A friend suggested we went for Yum Cha. Things go off to a slow start when the hostess sat on her cell phone for 5 minutes outside the tea house and no one else welcomed us. A great way to spend a couple of hours just out of Wellington. A mixed age group came to hear the history of tea, take part in a tea ceremony "Gong Fu Cha", have a delicious high tea and browse (and buy) from lovely shop which has teas, lots of different tea sets and souvenir/art items.
