The City to Sea Bridge is like an outdoor exhibition for art lovers. Spend your lunch time there, sit sheltered from the wind, enjoy art and great views of city and sea. The bridge is beautifully created and so easy to visit!

Why build a traditional steel bridge when you can build a work of art, laced with a modern take on traditional Maori carving, interspersed with niches and benches where you can sit and watch the world go by. The bridge serves the practical purpose of linking the Civic Square with the waterfront.

We were not sure at first site whether this bridge had been damaged in the earthquake but found it to be a most interesting and different way to cross the road.

We went here to relax and take some time out to enjoy the awesome views. It was very windy (but that is typical Wellington so no surprises there) but such a great set-up. Really cool.

Loads of great photo opportunities here for the amateur or professional photographer. There are Māori carvings, beautiful metal nikau palm trees and interesting architecture. There is, of course, also a magnificent view of the harbour!

This is a slightly crazy looking bridge over a road by the waterfront. You can see the port, the harbour, and people walking and enjoying themselves at the eating and drinking places. You can sit in the sun, there are some shady bits, and some shelter from the wind; and you can watch for sting rays in the lagoon.

It serves a useful purpose, getting from the cbd business area across to the waterfront area in Wellington, and as you walk across the bridge, pause and enjoy the views around it, try to ignore the busy street underneath, it is the people and their activities, eg..picnicking, boating, music, that are the best enjoyments. It can get a little breezy,... More

Very artistically built, carrying lot of architectural significance.. very nice place to capture best photographs of deep blue sea in background and sun shining on your face. You can enjoy evening sea breeze here.
