Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The signature sculpture is a cry for attention. I previewed this area and cancelled by dinner reservation because I didn't want to walk back from here again to my hotel. Time to let this go or get it back to a renovated hipster place it is trying to be.

I guess I was expecting something more quaint. Cuba Street, in my opinion, looked rundown. True there are a lot of restaurants and a lot of them due post their menus to view which is very helpful. I don't think I would have comfortable being on Cuba Street in the evening even with my husband. I will give a shout out to 2 places: Moore Wilson's and Ombra. Moore Wilson's is a wonderful grocery store. Even if you don't need groceries go in there. Pick up a dessert or maybe something to eat later. Very clean and a wonderful atmosphere. Ombra is an Italian restaurant located on a corner. Fun atmosphere. They have a happy hour special where they provide a free appetizer with certain drinks. The food was also good and reasonably priced. Glad we dined.

Some lovely old buildings ( above shops) not quite sure why it’s a must see street. It was fine for a mooch, but didn’t excite or interest us that much. Probably we are too old!

Cuba Street, part of which is a pedestrian mall, is a historic part of Wellington with many beautiful old buildings and an eclectic mix of traders, cafes, pubs & restaurants.

Good just to wander up & down window shopping and people watching.

Interesting mall with lots of funky bars and restaurants. Not much open for breakfast before 9am though. Good base to explore the city. No night markets anymore though.

This street was quite amazing. I stumbled on it by accident while on my Town to Coast Walkway. It was a blend of 'aged hippy and student'

We loved walking up and down this quirky trendy street, frequented by locals and visitors alike, our fave part was the secondhand shop, they were so much fun, to explore.

This is where the tourists and locals go for great shops, cafes and restaurants. The streetscape itself has fantastic art pieces and lots of benches to sit and people watch.

I first visited Cuba St in the 1970s and loved it then. Fifty years later, I still love it. It's probably my favourite street in the world. It is not an especially long street but it is lively from one end to the other. I like its vitality, its diversity, its friendliness, the streetlife, the colour and movement ... not to mention the many bars, cafes and restaurants. Of course, the fact that it is fully pedestrianised helps no end. Was there for CubaDupa festival this year, when it was even more fun than usual.
