Cuba Street is fun: you can almost see the horses and drays that once serviced its activities, shaded by an architecture of the long gone. Its a place of memories for the old, of experiences for the middle, and happy exploration for the young. A...More

Having grown up in Wellington when this area especially the top part was looked upon as not the best this is a MUST DO! Very little traffic, unique shops that reflect what Wellington is all about - funky, cool and fascianting. So good to see...More

Came for a Friday night market...enjoyed the street musicians and street food vendors. But it was much smaller than we expected. Still interesting and quirky.

A nice pedestrian street with lots of good restaurants and funky shops to visit. Centrally located, it can be visited as you stroll along the riverfront, going from one of town to the other. It was reminiscent of Haight Street in San Francisco’s Haight-Ashbury district.

An interesting range of shops and local characters, musicians and sculptures, Cuba St offers it all. In particular, make sure you check out Pegasus 2nd hand Bookshop down the lane at the northern end (Manners St). A huge variety of book subjects and titles.
