My husband and I did the Ball Pass Crossing with Alpine Adventures as a three-day, two-night trip. The views are spectacular but be aware that there is no track and so the going is extremely rough. If you get all wobbly on the second step of a ladder think twice. That being said if you can just focus on the next step and not the 1000m sheer drop off the sides during your trip over the pass you will be met with great views, a decent hut, good guide and meals. We got out just before... More

Tramped, clambered and climbed on the Ball Pass Summit trek, expertly guided by Elke from Alpine Recreation in Lake Tekapo. Trekked Ball Pass at the foot of Mount Cook with Alpine Recreation based in Lake Tekapo. I highly recommend the trip and Alpine Recreation. The trip took three days two nights spent in the Caroline Hut facing the magnificent Caroline face of Mount Cook. The scenery is absolutely spectacular.
