Glad to see the CBD making a comeback, still lots of construction work around, but there's a lot of new restaurants, bars and cafes popping up. Definitely worth heading into the centre .

Quite a lot of construction works going on. I guess it could partly be the need for new infrastructure and partly due to the earthquake in 2011. Christchurch Cathedral is currently closed for rebuilding. The transitional cathedral, also known as the Cardboard Cathedral, is about...More

A lot of constructions are going on in the CBD. I am glad that this city is on the way to recovery. There are a lot of cool grafitis around the CBD too. Tram is a cool way to look around the city.

What an absolutely stupid idea to have cycle lanes on the streets. I have never seen such a ridiculous arrangement. The streets have been narrowed so vehicles have the difficult task to navigate. Absolutely stupid and ridiculous.

The CBD was quiet and many areas are still pending recovery. Walked around slightly before lunch hour n left. Glad to hear locals are still optimistic about rebuilding the city. But as a tourist, nothing can be done except feeling sad.

Lots of devastation with heaps of one way traffic. Many buildings demolished hard to find main shopping strip. Better to move on foot than drive in. Public transport good. Hope things move quicker than since 2011. Rey Lo g way to go

With its Gothic masonry, Ch-ch has a short but rich history. I think the Square to museum, Cashel to Kilmore could have been better preserved as the "Old City" as in many European cities, but developers started nibbling away and the quakes have finished off...More

I was touched by the comments made by visitors to Christchurch City but assure you that locals are still optimistic about the rebuild. What people forget is that buildings had to be carefull demolished and all underground facilities replaced before building could commence. Yes, insurance...More

Very sophisticated Metro Bus Terminus Colombo Street adjoins the CBD now recreating itself. Interesting mixture of buildings awaiting demolition and new build creating a new heart of Christchurch
