Took the ferry from Lyttleton to Diamond Habour in the morning. It was $12.40 per adult return. You then walk to where Godley house once was. There are 2 places to eat. We enjoyed a tasty lunch in Chalfont café and bar, it has a...More

Went on the ferry from Lyttelton, a steep hill to climb and had good coffee whilst watching the harbour. This was the sunny size of the harbour, beautiful!

It takes sometime to reach this harbour but is worthed: secluded haven with beautiful views over the river, the Lyttleton village and the surrounding forests.

Visited on Wednesday 23rd May. One of the many places to stop and have a look at the harbour whilst driving between Lyttelton and Governor's Bay.

Best to go on a Sunny day if possible. Lovely spot, ferry ride very quick but maybe a bit overpriced. Decent walk to the top where you can have a bit to eat and a bevvy. Great little spot

Just a 10 minute ferry ride from Lyttelton (and free for NZ Gold Card holders!) Diamond Harbour is a pleasant diversion from the city traffic. Limited food offerings so a picnic might be recommended. There is a pleasant coastal walk to Purau if you have...More

Well worth the drive out from Christchurch or get the ferry from Lyttleton. Purau, just a little further on offers a peaceful relaxing place to picnic and swim.

We lived at Diamond Harbour for 3 years a while back, and most days we drove the long and winding road of 220 corners to ChCh. So it was a trip down memory lane to return with our adult daughter, son in law and grandsons....More
