We recently took an afternoon guided bike tour of Christchurch with Glen. This relaxed tour took us through the Botanic Gardens, Hagley Park, the Riccarton bush, around the streets and into the city to view special places and sites of significance. Glen was knowledgeable and...More

Christchurch Bike Tours was brought to my attention from an article in the Kia Ora (AirNZ inflight) magazine. I decided that a cycle around this nice flat town was much preferable to sitting in an air conditioned bus for the day. Claire was our guide,...More

I did the rebuild tour through Christchurch CBD. I saw and learned so much more than I could have covered myself, and doing it by bike was way more fun! My guide was really knowledgeable and made sure everyone was safe and happy. Definitely recommend...More

A great way to see Christchurch and the rebuilding As it's an easy city to bike around being largely flat. The tour guide Natalie was fabulous and gave us a good overview of the planned rebuilding as well as the innovative uses for empty spaces....More

It is with sadness that we write a poor review for the bike tour. We were so looking forward to it. The bikes and equipment were not ready and not well maintained. We went through several helmets before finding some where the straps were not...More

Clare was our cycle guide. She was absolutely brilliant, so knowledgeable about pre-and post-earthquake Christchurch. She had a collection of photos to show us pre-earthquake views at strategic points, which really brought home the devastation. As a resident, however, she was very optimistic and enthusiastic...More

Thank you for your great review Paul. Claire really enjoyed meeting you both last week for the bike tour. It is often hard to fit everything we want to show people into two-hours now that we have so many exciting developments underway in the city....More

Thank you for your great review. Glen is so passionate about Christchurch and was concerned that visitors didn't have a lot of options to explore the city on Christmas Day. So glad you enjoyed your time with him, he's such a fabulous guide.

We took a great bike tour of the amazing city....recovering from an earthquake in 2010 and again in 2011. Lots of rebuilding going on but still a great city to visit.

What other rides from CBD are there

You can ride to the beach from the CBD - i just googled bicycle paths in Christchurch and found maps and paths. You can also cycle around Hagley Park - it's quite a big park. Have fun!
