Could not believe my eyes when I saw how steep this street is. We drove up which was interesting, driving back down was scary. I tip my hat to all the people who were walking...or jogging!

While doing a bus tour in Dunedin we were dropped of here in the wind and cold which is a good time to walk the street as it will warm you up, yes it is steep. Very busy as there were lots of people from the two cruise ships in town to see the steepest street in the world. If... More

Dont know how the can be sure about this fact, but the City promote it like this. It is interesting and fun to walk the Street up, it is very steppy ;-) 38 % You can take some pics and its fun but you dont need hours for this. So just a funny Break on your Tour and not a... More

It is short but steep. I have jogged up and down several times this month. It takes about 4 minutes to jog up at a very slow pace, and slightly less to come down. It is interesting, in the same way that short steep streets in SF are interesting. I would say that jogging up Stuart Street (2.5 miles south... More

Take 10 minutes out of your schedule to drive (or walk) up to the top of Baldwin at. A bit of fun and a worthwhile memory.

While there are some debates about the true status of "World's steepest street", it certainly is one of the steepest I have come across. Just park the car at the bottom of the street and enjoy the short, but steep walk up. With a camera you can take some special pictures, holding the camera parallel to the road, with the... More

It's STEEP but not long - we climbed it as a family including my 6 year old son and we all made it to the top. It can test fitness for those who aren't usually active but you can stop to catch your breath. A few drove up and down for the experience - I preferred walking up.

We went here on a city tour and was pleased to see this well known spot. Unfortunately couldn't walk the whole way up but others did.

The whole visit took less than an hour to climb up, down and get our own customised Cert that we have visited this street. The Baldwin Street Certificate is located near the bottom of the street (there is a signage). You can choose what colour you want and your name will be written on the cert.

Rode our bikes there from the city. Cool place, worth a visit while in Dunedin. Also a very nice lady selling ice cream at the start of the hill.
