You can easily miss this out of the back of the Albatross centre car park but dont. Go on the argo's and get up close and personal with seals and penguins. The ecological credentials of the place are second to none and the tour leads are both passionate and knowledgable. Best money we spent in NZ.

We stopped here after visiting the Royal Albatross Colony. We were able to see Fur Seals and an Elephant Seal in their natural environment, as well as some penguins. It's basically Mr. Reid's farm where he has developed this side business, since there's so much wildlife on his property. We enjoyed seeing all the wildlife, it was really quite amazing.

The road up to the reception point and cafe is unmade and on the rough side, but well worth the effort, as the wildlife is well away from the public. We saw Sea Lion, Seals, Penguins, Albatross and many other birds. The cafe serves a nice selection of cakes and sandwiches and some excellent home baked scones. The Aargo ride... More

Was heading to have a coffee and breaky when we saw the signs and decided to head up. Terrible road.. let's just say we were glad we had a 4wd. Arrived to a cold reception, terrible coffee... could get a better coffee from a service station & defiantly not worth $5. Beautiful view from the cafe but very dated decor.... More

It's surprising because we didn't expect to find this place up the hill from the Royal Albatross Centre, and you are also in for a surprise when you take this tour. The wildlife is so close to you and you can see them frolicking, lazing and all in their natural habitat. The tour guides are extremely enthusiastic about what they... More

We booked this as an excursion on our cruise ship. You take a bus about 1 hour to get here. Once here you go to 2 spots to see birds, seals, and penguins. They have limited Argo vehicles so we split up in half. Half rode in the Argo vehicles to the shoreline and then we switched for the trip... More

I recently took my recently widowed mum, who grew up in Dunedin, 'home' for a trip down memory lane - to catch up with old friends and family. While we were there we headed out to Natures Wonders (early). I was a bit worried about how she would handle it but I needn't have bothered. She loved it! It seemed... More

What a great experience. We loved the 8-wheel drive Argo vehicles and the front seat! We did the wildlife tour and have no complaints. The driver was great - stopped for photos and explained about the wildlife. We had a great ride that had panoramic views of the peninsula and coast. the penguins are fantastic (naturally) and so were the... More

Booked this through Celebrity Cruises in October 2016 for our Jan/Feb 2017 cruise, we were supposed to go in an 8x8 but ended up in a bus. The owner escorted us to only two spots on the farm and were provided with crass political views relating to conservation along the way, understandably the owner of this property is passionate about... Booked this tour as part of our cruise around NZ. Definitely the highlight of the trip. Guides were friendly and informative. Loved driving in the all terrain vehicle even though it was windy & muddy. Got up close to the fur seals & their pups, loved the viewing hides. Once we returned to the cafe we were given fresh scones,... More
