The store is good to start with and the motor bike displays are first class.Im not even a bike fan but found this place fascinating.(and it's free to look)

Hayes is actually a hardware store but the owner has a passion for collecting bars and bikes which they put on display amongst the shelving! They also boast the ORIGINAL Indian, purchased to display here so they knew it would stay in its rightful home city. Even if you aren't too bothered about the hardware go and have a look... More

Good alternative hardwares store that isn't name Mitre 10. Helpful staff and some decent bargains to be had. Added bonus of some classic cars and motorbikes with of course The Fastest Indian also included.

Amazing shop with free museum. Clean and well laid out and the staff were very friendly. So much machinery, motorbikes and engines throughout the shop.

A great collection including the worlds fastest Indian, of bikes and old machinery, with a few quirky surprises. Great set up with the collection among working hardware store, even had the movie playing.

A must see. Located in a working hardware, where you a welcome to visit FOR FREE. I was very surprised. Not only can you see the worlds fastest Indian Motorcycle made famous by the movie of the same name but also there are many other interesting bikes and vehicles. What a brilliant concept to combine your exhibits amongst your stock and convert the chore of shopping into an enjoyable experience. We visited the collection as my partner wanted to see the Bert Munro display, and was thrilled to see the actual bike ridden by Bert in his amazing record-breaking Bonneville ride. I wanted to see Burt Munro's record breaking motorcycle and the Hayes museum... I wasn't disappointed and my overnight detour to Invercargill was well worth the effort.
