We visited the Museum again on our visit to Souhtland. It's a great museum with lots of history and interesting pieces on Southland. I particular was overwhelmed by the Greg McDonald Artist exhibition. How good are those paintings...the eyes follow you around!. Amazing talented Artist.

Another museum I dragged the kids around. Spent a couple of hours wandering around, plenty of interesting exhibits, particularly on the efforts to settle and work the southern islands.

This is a very interesting regional Museum, also FREE, and simply the BEST place in New Zealand to view the very rare 'Tuatara Lizard' that links back to dinosaur times. At the moment there are also baby Tuatara to view.

We came back to the I-Site to go through the museum. There are quite a few portions, not all related but each with excellent artifacts to enhance the experience. It was nice to see a Burt Munro mural and bike near the front. From there...More
