My friends and I went on the Stirling Sunrise tour and it was the highlight of our stay in Milford Sound. Rosco's is a well run operation and provide you with all of your gear - including base layers. The only thing I wore of my own was my hat - which I was happy I brought because it helped... More

I was a bit worried seeing the large group waiting to go on the water - having been to a few attractions that seemed a bit overcrowded, but I needn't have worried. They split us into two small groups and our guide, Ben, was absolutely fantastic. He made a point of spending some time with every boat, sharing his vast... More

What a trip !!! We did the morning glory and had the perfect weather. Fresh snow the night before, light drizzle and the sunshine peeping through the clouds to show off the peaks of these incredible mountains. The best time of the day to do the kayaking , before all of the tours start and our guide Amanda was a... More

My partner and I did the 'Paddle 'n walk' track and had an absolute blast. Our guide Monty was super knowledgable and fantastic company over the 5 or so hours, pointing out to us all the local flora & fauna and showing us his favourite spots. The kayaking and walk component of this journey were super easy and can be... More

We wanted to experience the Morning Glory kayak in the Milford Sound. There are 4 of us, but there were only 3 spaces left (2 months before the date). I emailed Roscoe's and within minutes they had organized a second, earlier kayaking experience for the 4 of us. We started on the water at dawn with our excellent guide Courtney.... More

We did "morning glory" and we really enjoyed it! Heading out in the fiord at around 7.30 (we met up and got ready at 6.30) means you pretty much have the place to yourself before the cruise ships heads out, which was just amazing. This trip also means that you paddle all the 16-18 km out to the Tasman sea.... More

I've done a lot of these types of excursions and many times the weather turns bad. Well we did a Rosco's trip just a few days ago and the weather was so bad we couldn't do part of the trip. They were upfront with us about the limitation and made us every offer to reschedule or get a refund, most... More

I was uncertain about the value of doing Milford Sound on a cloudy, rainy day. We did it in kayaks, and I have to say it was even better on a cloudy, rainy day. It was mystical, we say rainbows, and the rocks glistened with sparkly moisture. We highly recommend Rosco's. Best ever guides, safety procedures were top notch, and... More

My wife and I had an amazing day at Milford Sound with Rosco's. Our guide Andrew was great. Even with a 5:45AM departure time, he made the drive up so interesting and engaging. There were plenty of opportunities for him to pull off, both on the drive up and back, for photo opportunities and even a quick walk. He was... More

Rosco's isn't a bad option, the equipment is great and the guides are knowledgeable. Their real problem is expectation management, and a high price level relative to the service provided, especially compared to elsewhere in NZ, e.g. Abel Tasman Kayaks. We decided on "Morning Glory" because: First, the tour description has departure at 6:30 am and return at 12:30 pm... More
