We're a 60 year old couple who kayaked the Milford Sound in January, 2017. Unfortunately the weather was not very cooperative, and we had wind, cold and rain. However, we really had a great time. First off, our driver from Te Anau was excellent; she was very good at stopping both coming and going for photo opps, and providing us... More

We (mum & I) booked the Stirling Sunriser and drove from Te Anau early in the morning before our kayak. It was raining lightly on the drive - spectacular scenery and it took us just over 2 hours with one stop. As we were huddled in the tent getting ready, we were told the wind had picked up, and we... Make no mistake, this is not a cheap trip. We are a family of five with grown kids, so we spent more than a thousand NZ dollars. But it was worth every penny. Our guide Courtney was excellent, knowledgeable about Milford despite the fact that she was from Alaska. We opted for the "Stirling Sunriser" which is reall only a... More

We (two adults and two teens) loved our kayaking experience. Having been taken by boat up the sound, we had the best of views kayaking back to base, particularly thrilling to go so close to the waterfall. Jess was clearly highly experienced and safety-conscious but also a fount of knowledge and local stories. We 'rafted up' for a fun wee... More

Andrew was an excellent tour guide, great sense of humour, and has heaps of knowledge about the area. One of the best. The drive to Milford Sound was really rewarding, I would recommend the pick up. Andrew had a lot of info to share and I felt really safe with him behind the wheel (I have been in a bus... More

We kayaked across the sound for about an hour and were taken to some cool little coves covered in trees. We then hiked on the Milford Track for an hour or two and kayaked back to the starting point. Monty was an awesome guide and we had an amazing time even though the weather wasn't great. This was a great... More

The kayak tour was very relaxing with some amazing views (including waterfalls) from the water. The guides were very friendly and allowed plenty of opportunities for photos.

My partner and I participated in the twilight tour and it was fantastic. We lucked out on great weaher and didn't experience any problems in the group. Our guide, Courtney, was highly experienced, informative and fun. We couldn't have had a better tour guide. She steadily guided us through the fiords and got us all back in one piece. I... More

Setting off on the "morning glory" kayaking trip with our guide "Ricky Baker". Early morning meet for safety briefing and run down of the day. Great service start to finish with jokes and laughter the whole way. 16 kilometre trip through the sound with knowledgable commentary, through waterfalls, riding waves, singing and laughter. Saw penguins and seals. Great team who... More
