Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Stirling Falls (also called Waimanu Falls) is one of the permanent waterfalls in Milford Sound. The waterfall height is 151 m and can be viewed from the coast of Milford Sound. But the best thing is to view the waterfall during a boat cruise or kayak trip in Milford Sound. After a few days of rain, the amount of water will be even more impressive and powerful. If you have the chance it is definitely worth seeing the Stirling Falls.

Went on the Jucy cruise, seeing these falls from the boat was stunning, you are taken to many different falls, the staff are very knowledgeable and it is definitely a must do whilst you are there. When it is/ has been raining they really look impressive.

The area had, had a long period of rain before our visit, which, made the falls even more impressive, a sight/site not to be missed.

There is this incredible sound of water and waves here. Something we have not experienced before at all. We had a smallish boat. Just few of us. We worried about our boat's stability.

Seen from our cruise boat in Milford Sound, the falls, one of the several falls, second highest 151m high, is an amazing experience. The sheer force of water and the sound of falls are an exceptional experience.

These falls look impressive from a cruise ship. They are about 500 feet tall. When a small tourist ship goes up close to the falls you can really see how big they are

You will see it if you do a kayac activity or a cruise. It is better when it has rained or it's raining, of course.

One of two permanent (year-round) waterfalls in New Zealand's Milford Sound (see my review, "New Zealand's top attraction"), Stirling Falls drops 508 feet down a sheer cliff. The falls are named for Frederick Stirling, a British Royal Navy officer. We saw these falls from Celebrity Solstice, which sailed in and out of Milford Sound. If you arrive at Milford Sound via road from Queenstown, you can see these falls via the smaller boat tours that are offered.
