Simone and Lance are a pleasure and they have very high standards for DIR diving with first class gear and customer service. The diving was extremely unique and this is the best way to see Milford Sound!!
Simone and Lance are real pros and take great pride in the high end kit and service they provide. Unlike many dive centres, they like the kit they provide to their clients so much that they use exactly the same themselves.

I would not recommend driving in the morning from Queenstown, it would be rushed and there is so much to see on the way, plus there is a high chance that you will be tired for the dive. Is this going to be good for you, especial with the type of diving you are going to do? It is also not cheap in Milford sound. What I did was stay at a campsite close to the tunnel to Milford Sound and then had an hour ish drive. As its a lot colder now, maybe idea to stay in The Anua (beautiful place.) And then drive up.
After the dive I stayed a night in Milford Sounds (booking early is advised), it is recommended but I know girl who didn't .I did this to recover (had ear issue whilst diving and to enjoy Milford Sounds.
Hope this helps, anymore questions just ask.
