Knowledgeable tour guide and well structured tasting

Very Interesting " wine cave tour" with tasting in the surprisingly large cave . Explanation about their impressive wines really enhanced the tasting. Delicious Pinot and rose.

We were so excited to learn we could do a self guided bike trail tour to this winery. We were picked up in Queenstown and dropped off in Arrowtown, complete with hire mountain bikes, where we started with coffees and pastries then road our bikes from Arrowtown via the Arrow River Trail and Gibbston River Trails and ended at the... Gibbston Pinot is one of our favourite wines. The wine they produce here is cellar door exclusive and is not available at Dan Murphys or similar which is nice. Family owned and operated - the team that do the tour of the winery and their caves are very knowledgeable and passionate. The winery also has a lovely restaurant.

What a fantastic stop on the drive from Dunedin to Queenstown. A fantastic winery/vineyard and cheesery. In a beautiful valley just outside Queenstown on the main highway. Good parking but it gets very busy. Large bar/restaurant with outside seating. We had a lovely couple of hours here eating cheese and pairing with local wine.

We visited Gibbston Valley Wines on a self guided bike tour package. Regarding the bike tour. We were picked up in Queenstown, driven out to the winery, given a bike and a map and told when to back. The trail was beautiful (wonderful day for a bike ride) however at NZ wineries it is custom to only do one tasting... More

After an exciting stop at AJ Hackett this was the perfect place to chill out have a glass of good wine and share a platter in the sun. Great service and a nice relaxing occasion. The cheeses produced at Gibbston are wonderful.

We had a very charming young French lady showing us around - showed us rows of vines, then took us straight to the cave and wine tasting. Really wasn't a tour - hoped for a tour of the winery, information about the whole process, but we skipped straight from grape on vine to aging in a cave! Tasting informative and... More

after a fantastic bike ride from arrowtown we were quite excited to visit the vineyard, madly dashing to ensure we got there for the 1pm cave tour, happily paid the $17 dollars each and to be honest, i probably was expecting more but to walk 30m through a tunnel to where the barrels were was a little disappointing, and although... We were at the winery at 10.30am so ordered coffee and a very underwhelming platter. I did expect a far more interesting platter considering the winery we were in. The staff member we encountered could barely speak English which made for a very frustrating ordering process. However, the wine knowledge and selection was amazing. We purchased four bottles and have... More

Some friends and I visited Gibbston Valley Wines after spending the morning in Queenstown. We enjoyed a wonderful wine tasting experience followed by a late lunch. The service in both was impeccable and the food and wine was delicious. I would highly, highly recommend.
