We spent a few hours at Arrowtown in-between visiting the Shotover Jet and AJ Hacket Bungy. The Arrowtown Bakery served great sausage rolls. We the had a wonder through the town, and walk along the river (which is just about pram accessible), and around the Chinese settlement. A great way to spend a few hours near Queenstown without spending tons... More

Spent a delightful day in Arrowtown, walking, gold panning and just having good family time. Went back for a second day just to walk the streets and look in the shops. Found lots of gold too.

Great place for walking, you can walk as far as you like just following the river. So peaceful and beautiful, we spent a couple of hours just taking in the scenery.

Enjoyed half a day trip to Arrowtown and arrow river. Met some golddiggers and one of them showed us a tiny little piece of gold he found there but to be honest it seems crazy to waste time for that amount of gold! Lovely restaurants and shops. you can buy fresh fruits and very delicious Cherries in Christmass time. We... More

THe cycle trails start from Arrowtown and stretch for kilometres along the Arrow River, and up into the surrounding hills. We did a lovely ride with our 8 year old, and ended the ride with lunch at the Gibbston Winery. What a great way to spend a day !

A small town not far off from Queenstown, is a good spot to stop by. Lanes full of shops with variety & the important part if the first Chinese Settlers who came to Arrow Town to dig gold. There's the original Chinese Settlement, which has been restored.

While at Queenstown make sure you make a visit to Arrowtown. A lovely little historic town with 'tourist' section on the Arrow River. Go for lunch and have an enjoyable day just browsing around the old shops! Very relaxing!

I did the 1 hour walk around the river that crosses two small bridges. It was a beautiful walk on a shared path, so watch out for cyclists and dogs. Very easy walk, only a slight incline at times, something worth doing on a nice day.
