I had an amazing time with the water ‘jet boots’ a few days ago. The session is organised through Water sport world near Frankton Queenstown and they were really good. The main instructor Dean got my wife and I wetsuits and life vests and explained how the jet boots worked on the jetty, then we took turns in the water trying to ‘fly’ using the jet boots.
You’re attached by a water hose to the instructor’s jet ski, the water hose provides the water to your jet boots. After a few tries we were making short ‘flights’ up into the air - before losing our balance and falling back into the lake. It doesn’t hurt at all but you may end up with lake water up your nose if you fall backwards - we did. It was amazing fun! Exhilarating, hilarious, satisfying and very, very different to the routine adventure sports activities available elsewhere.
The support crew at watersportworld were great too. I really wanted to go back the next morning for another go but had a pre-booked tour and then had to drive to Christchurch. I can not recommend it enough. :-)

I'm 66 and still love trying new sports. This was brilliant, one of the very best and with Brandon's excellent coaching I stood up quite a few times. It's a fantastic buzz once you're clear of the water so for anyone who likes water sports, give it a go, you'll absolutely love it😁😁😁

I'd always wanted to try Flyboarding and jumped at the chance to do so when on holiday in New Zealand. Flyboard Queenstown were absolutely excellent: good price; friendly staff; helpful instructors; great location and an epic flying experience. Cannot recommend highly enough.

This activity was amazing. Took me about 5 mins to get up and fly. A lot easier than I thought. The sensation of it is incredible. I would definitely do this again. I highly recommend. Beau and Brandon were amazing instructors. Thanks guys. :)

Initially we thought we had bad luck with the weather Not being able to go skydiving in queenstown since that was the actual reason for us staying there... The i-site recommonended the flyboard as an outdoor alternative which is less weather-dependent (Except strong winds and Waves). Best recommondation ever!!!

Within 5 minutes you‘re up in the air... always supported via headphones in the helmet.
Although I Never did any kind of boarding before it worked pretty well including dolphin jumping and turns. Anyways you can try anything you want once you‘re up there.

Give it a try! I Will definitely do it again.

Thanks for that great experience!

This was a very fun activity. Queenstown is so adventurous that you have to do at least one water sport when visiting. The staff were very professional and talk you through the whole thing, via a bluetooth microphone in your helmet. There is no more than a 10 minute learning curve before your up in the air. It takes a bit to get the balance, and you really have to swing your feet to get them under you to propel you up instead of forward. But it was very fun once your up in the air. I asked them to do go pro footage as it really is the best way to remember the experience.

My boyfriend did the solo-flyboard for half an hour and felt that it was testing to get your head round the instructions, but felt that the instructor was helpful and patient. I really enjoyed it, but it was hard physical work.

I had booked a tandom flight, and it was with Dennis. I had a really good time, but felt that I had much less time than my partner (which is fine, if that had been explained to me or mentioned at all).

Unfortunately, we paid extra for the footage taken. After watching it at home- It was poor and disappointing.

Great way to spend an hour or so in Queenstown. Get into the crystal clear, pure water and enjoy the power of being able to shoot around above and below the water line. Crew is great and the pricing is reasonable, it the states this activity is 3-4x the price. A must do in Queenstown. Note that reasonable physical condition and water comfort is needed.

The best thing we did in Queenstown. I did the flyboard for half an hour and the instructor was helpful and patient, getting me to the point where I could hover and do simple spins and turns.

It was so good we went back and my wife had a tandom flight with Dennis on the jetpack.

Both times the whole team were friendly and chatty which made it even better.
