About
While Queenstown is generally done at full pace, Onsen Hot Pools takes a step back to let you take in the beauty of the surroundings and simply relax. With uninterrupted views across the Shotover Canyon, our Cedar Hot Tubs are heated to 37.8C on warmer days and up to 39.8C during the winter and can accommodate up to four adults. Our natural setting is matched by the pure water captured on its endless journey between the sky and earth to continually fill and refresh the pools. With complimentary transport to and from Queenstown, Onsen Hot Pools is relaxation the natural way.

Lovely Service

I had a wonderful time with my friends when we visited Onsen Hot Pools a few weeks ago, which was made all the better by our host Taylor. She catered for all our needs and was a wonderful representative of the company with her energy and attitude. Would 10/10 recommend for anyone thinking of visiting.

Relaxing and beautiful scenery
Enjoyable experience- the backdrop is stunning, it’s lovely to have small snack and drinks provided while soaking and enjoying the beautiful view. The cold water pipe added a few laughs!

Bliss
Oct 2021
Bliss. Our last night of travels couldn't have ended at a better place. We booked for the basic onsen for 5pm, and lounged back with the stunning views and chilled. Nice glass of wine each, and a choccy, and just let the world go by. It's not the cheapest of experiences, but totally worth it. Just forget about the world for an hour, relax and enjoy your quiet time alone. Totally recommended.

Indulgent and relaxing
Husband and I did the night time Onsen hot pool experience. We had the indoor pool with retractable roof, which made it an outdoor experience. It was wonderful and relaxing enjoying the pool under the stars. Included in the price was a pick up and drop off from Queenstown cbd and a drink and snack to be enjoyed whilst in the pool. The staff members were lovely, especially the young lady who was our driver. I would love to go back and experience the pool in the daytime with views of the shotover River.

Feel the Serenity
Sep 2021
What a great idea, loved the visit to this calming retreat just 5 minutes from Queenstown centre via Gorge Road. The outlook from the private spa room was to die for. You will get exactly as it shows in the brochure. Lovely staff, drinks and nibbles included, very private. A wonderful hour of peaceful serenity overlooking the gorge and river and hills of Queenstown.

Choose the indoor original. Over all over priced.
Sep 2021
I've visited here twice. Both indoor & outdoor tubs.
The indoor original is a lot more private and quiet than the outdoor tub.
I much preferred the privacy from the indoor tub as when your in the outdoor tub you can see into the next tub and hear over each others conversations & They also allow kids so can be less relaxing, although having the tub outdoors in nature feels more enjoyable than covered under a hood and full enclosed walls. The hood is semi removable. The enviroment is really beautiful inside with a pretty view over the canyon. I think it has been more hyped up than what it actually is or costs though. There is hot tubs next to Onsen in the hotel for 50% less cost for complete privacy.

Stunning place
Love Onsen! Perfect for visiting with girlfriends or for couples. I’ve been at night and during the day and daytime is best for the views. Stunning overlooking the Shotover river. Especially if it’s snowing! The selection of a snack and a drink as part of the package is a wonderful touch. Book the skier / hiker package if you fancy an amazing massage after your Onsen.
