Large seats and reasonable prices mean this is a good activity for a cold or rainy day. Not a great range to choose from but the documentary Ara Whenua is very good. Only goes for about half an hour.

Beautiful scenic film, only half an hour but stunning visuals and a glimpse of a land otherwise unseen. The Theatre had everything you needed and opportunity to be served coffee or wine accordingly. Well worth a look and the locals are very proud of this...More

A very comfortable small cinema in the centre of town. We went to see the Fjordland film, which was fantastic. Great views of places we could never reach.

We went to see this very interesting film after we visited Milford and Doubtful Sounds and were glad we did it in that order. The film is beautiful.

This cinema was set up to show a specially commissioned film about Fiordland. The film lasts about 30 minutes and is well worth it. It runs every hour on the hour. After the last viewing in the evening one of the latest movies is shown.

This documentary is an "absolute" must-see before going to Milford Sound because the team of "Lord of Rings" cameramen and the talented local helicopter flights did an awesome job, showing you the Sounds from above with plenty of details that you realize when doing the...More
