Lots of places to stop, great walks and pristine native habitat - well worth stopping at several spots to see the differences in the fauna.

As we only spent one day in this beautiful corner of th earth, I can't make judgement about all of it, but based on what we saw, it it truly magnificient would gladly spend a week exploring. We did Milford Sound (by kayak - rated separetly) and due to the long summer days had time for a short trek, so... More

The possibilities are endless... there are so many walk tracks, lakes, parks ... plus you can go the doubtful sound or dusky sound. It offers options of sorts

There are only two roads on the edge of the park so thus is real wilderness. Beautiful views of the high mountains and lakes, but it rains heavily and a lot--9 meters in 2016. A major attraction is the Milford Walk from Te Anau to Milford. Snow on the mountains in summer. All of the area was carved by glaciers.

Dear Madam/Sir, RE: Fiordland National Park is a large area dedicated for nature and conservation activities. The awe-inspiring Park spreads across the highway between Te Aneu and Milford Sounds. The Fiordland offers abundant flowing rivers and long walking paths that requires professional camping experience. The Mirror Lakes gives beautiful depiction of the mountains inside the water. Many such wonders could... More

It's one of the most spectacular scenery in the country. Kayaking is a popular way to explore the fjords. You'll never regret visiting here !

This whole place is simply stunning - there is enough to do here for a month or more if you had the time and money. Doubtful Sound is an absolute must do! We will be back to do the "great walks"!

You simply must visit this place! There are many, many walks here suitable for everyone who can walk with some ease. You don't have to be fit to enjoy the park. You can visit places by Te Anau and do some easy parts of the Kepler track (walk up to 4hrs in each direction through the forest) or venture up... More

Dropped by on Christmas Day - they were open for a couple of hours. Had a quick chat with one of the staff, learned a couple of things that allowed us to set out on a very good hike. The visitor centre sells a bird calendar whose sales supports the bird sanctuary up the road... you should get one too!

Unbelievable scenery. The endless streaming of waterfalls and sheer expanse of virgin wilderness is breathtaking. Should be on everyone's bucketlist for at least one visit in their lifetime.
