This is a great little attraction close to town. Plenty of birds and displays, easy walking and great for kids. A donation is all that is required and I think it’s a great way to spend an hour or two.

It's a short walk from Te Anau to the aviary near the water. There are several rare birds there and you can view them up close. It's also nice to continue on the path down the water to the golf course and return.

We went in particularly bad weather. The birds in the avairies are all native, and lovely to look at. The lake provides a chance to see native birds in a natural environment and it all free.

a silent walk near the lake, watching all the threatened animals, especially birds, was very interesting. Hope the effort will succeed

It is worth popping into this little park at feeding time as you get to meet the keeper and see the birds perhaps a bit closer than usual. It is a small park and it is run by the Department of Conservation with little to...More

Right on the lake, a lovely walk from the town centre. We saw Takahe, Kakariki, Kaka and Tui. Very enjoyable.
