Monumental walk

This was a hard walk on such a hot day but well worth the effort. If walking is not for you, then you can drive up and enjoy the view.

High up above Albury this is an impressive location. The monument itself is important and has a simple stark beauty. To stand back and see it as a whole is worth the drive up. But, once you are there, enjoy the panoramic views, and the pleasant gardens surrounding the monument. Probably not a place to spend a lot of time,... More

If this is your bag it's worth a visit. A tribute to those who lost their lives in WWI. The monument stands prominently above downtown Albury and the view is impressive.

You can either access Memorial Hill via a stiff walk up the hill from the Botanical Gardens and CBD or driving up the rather steep hill. It has beautiful views over Albury and the surrounding hills. The monument with the memorials of servicemen killed in the wars from the Boer War to Vietnam is sobering and reflective of the tragedy... More

Looking up as we enjoyed Albury's streets we saw the large white monument and drove to the top to see the views. We could look straight down the Main Street, Dean Street, and could see the town setting. Views over the surrounding mountains and the peaceful area with picnic tables and toilets and walking tracks make a great family area.... More

I went for a drive up Monument Hill, and I must say it never disappoints. Great shrine to remember the fall that has stood tall over Albury for many years and also great views of the surrounding area including the flood waters currently along the Murray

Humbling place to visit and see the names and respect to those who fought. There is a nice lookout a short stroll through the the grass and a great view of Dean street and Albury. Worth the drive up, it's only a 5min drive from town.

Amazing views of Albury/ Wodonga and surrounding mountains. It is a must to see if you are visiting the area. A great walk and a play area for children at the base of the hill.
