We had been visiting friends in the local area and noticed their creek was flowing well through their property. We decided to drive out and take a look at Dangars Falls. We were so glad that we did. The river was in flood and the flow over the falls was the best that we had ever seen. We walked across to the other side of the river via the track which takes you to the Eastern side of the falls which is quite close. Fabulous to watch the power of water. While we were there we decided to continue on a little bit further to a lookout which looked over the lower gorge. Just awe inspiring! A very special spot indeed.…

If you don't mind several kilometers of dirt road, the falls are definately worth a visit. There is ample parking and several excellent viewing spots within a very easy paved walkway. Lavatories and picnic facilities are available. The falls are a single, near verticle, drop. Looked sepctacular during our visit, following some good railfalls.…

While it is a challenge over some gravel road to reach the Falls you won't be disappointed. The solid stream seems to reach from the sky to snake through the valley below.

It's mortifying to see the impact of the drought on the New England area. The drive to Dangar Falls takes you through parched and dry areas, the forests are being stripped of their leaves, and the Dangar Falls itself is bone dry. But its a stunning, stunning place.
