A remarkable artist, and now one of my favorites. You simply cannot visit Broken Hill without taking a walk through the Pro Hart Gallery. Pro's art is a masterpiece for the eyes, it takes your imagination to a time where Broken Hill was a vibrant mining town and it captures the beauty and serenity of Outback Australia.

Visitors from overseas may not have heard of this Australian icon (1928-2006) before. A multifaceted and successful artist. Influenced by European artists - but always showing the Aussie background. A must see in Broken Hill.

This was one awesome guy in what he did and what he produced, but you have to be a fan of his art. Some I liked and others were a bit radical, but this was really what he was about. Some of his big works are spread about the city. There is some near the airport and just opposite the... More

The gallery provides an excellent review of the artist's like and times in Broken Hill. A lot of his paintings are on display and a range of articles for sale.

I attended Pro Hart's gallery at the end of October. It was a nice stop off displaying some of Pro Hart's work. It offers vision of Pro's life and family that is viewed in comfortable chairs. I did not realise his artistic endeavour extended beyond the canvas. The museum offers lots of souvenirs, prints and outdoor metal animals. They had... More

It was well worth the $5 admission fee, we spent longer pondering Pro's work than we expected to and really enjoyed the exhibit. We learnt a bit more about the Australia Iconic painter.
