These baths are really neat. They are carved right into the beach and are huge! If you're kids aren't comfortable swimming in the ocean they can swim safely and easily in these naturally fed by the ocean saltwater pools.

Loved our day at the beach here. Free parking. The pools were enormous and very clean. Recommend you go for a walk along the coastal track to Newcastle. Takes about 90 minutes.

The Merewether Baths are a quaint visit back into an early bathing pavillion right on the edge of the sea. Lots of local families use these baths as well as all us tourists. Terrfiic spot - can't be beat for position & is spotlessly clean....More

Love love love Newcastle Baths. Nice access and great to swim in. Can be hard to find a park close by in the warmer weather though

The Merewether ocean baths are an amazing place for a swim or just to hang out. The water is regularly changed and is clear to swim in.

The pools are a lovely way to spend half a day. Parking can be a bit tricky in the afternoon. Be sure to check the Council website for the cleaning schedule.

The baths are great for starting the day , although in the summer suffer from overuse. The change rooms which are ancient are in need of a revamp but all this aside would hate to see it change

Swim anytime, they definitely don't close unless they are draining it for cleaning . I've been late at night during a hot summer Newcastle night and it was packed.
