We were lucky to see the lake when it is blue. It is not always as blue. Great walking area and lots of view points around looking into different valleys. There was a race car event happening close by.

Great spots to view and drive all they way around. Heaps of different lookouts and the added bonus is it's right in town.

A beautiful part of Mt Gambier. The lake wasn't as blue as other times but still wonderful to see. Highly recommend seeing this.

Although the afternoon was overcast and chilly it was a pleasant walk around the circuit to see the Blue Lake. The lake was a lovely clear blue grey colour. The best time to see the true blue of the lake is November but we were...More

We did the Lakes Circuit twice. An excellent walk or run. Would definitely recommend and there's a free parkrun here every Saturday at 7:40am. Great views, very picturesque and numerous paths, tracks and roads to suit every taste.

Brilliant blue water in the Summer months and excellent views all year round. A park run around the perimeter each Saturday at 8am. Café and tourist centre at pumping station. Also do tours.

Really didn't expect this large lake, sitting inside the ancient volcanic cone. Well worth a drive by, (or a lovely walk if the weather is nice)!

The blue lake will still be nice, and it will be a more vibrant blue than your average lake for sure, but it is certainly it's most impressive from November-Feb. As for Adelaide, in Feb you can expect periods where the... More

The above responses are all correct but like the writers I am also unsure of the operating hours. I do take great pride in the fact I lived in Mt. Gambier for 10yrs. including my teenage years. My late father was a well... More

Hi Wendy, as arr0w123 and others have mentioned, no you can't because it is our town water supply. Having said that if you are visiting, the 45min tour held every hour on the hour is brilliant. We have only been here 8yrs... More
