This market, which is held weekly on Saturday mornings, has its own dedicated paved area on Cimitiere Street.

Lots of stalls, well spaced, with seating areas.

Stalls sold mostly fresh produce (fruit and vegetables, meats, seafood, artisan bread, pastries and dairy). There were though some spirit providers as well as artisan preserves, pickles, cured meats and salami, honey etc plus some ready to eat take away offerings.

Would visit every week to stock up the fridge and the pantry if we lived in Launceston.

Saturday event only so checked it out even though it was a bit wet. Relatively small market but an interesting range of things. Also easy to move around. Tried some different rums and pleasantly surprised how good some were and bought a couple. Was a good morning to try a different coffee roaster as well. If you have the time on a Saturday in Launceston then worth a visit.

If you want fresh produce and the best products that Tassie has to offer, then this is the market for you! The staff at the stalls we visited were so lovely and helpful. The food we bought was so delicious! Can’t wait to come back!

This is a functional market. The locals come. It is not large but it is atmospheric. Good for interesting local produce.

What a major bonus for Launceston this market is. A great variety of fresh produce from meat and fish to veggies and juices and breads - there’s plenty of choice for everyone.
Hot food options are excellent and sitting having a breakfast roll on a seat in the sun listening to the DJ playing some cool beats makes for a fabulous morning. Get their early for the best choice of produce! We’ll done volunteers, it’s awesome!

Of so many farmers markets that we’ve visited across the world, we rate this as one of the very best. It is not large; maybe 40(?) or so vendors. But the range of produce and products is very varied; some fresh produce (meat, veg, fruit), some gifts and some food/drink stalls. We came to have a look and ended up walking the “circuit” twice to capture all that the market had to offer. We came away with many products.

Well done to the organisers.

Fantastic place to spend a weekend wandering around. Very popular in Launceston and draws a big crowd throughout the day. Lots of different stalls to check out, some amazing local produce. Greta place to get coffee, brunch and stock up on some goods.

Two visits to this market this year, and yes, travelling there the sunroof was open both times, though I did cheat with the heater on, so cold and brisk are the mornings driving into Launnie.

Great choices for food to eat there, and to take away as raw ingredients for some magnificent meals later in the week. The producers (of spices, cheeses, wines, gins and so forth) have interesting tales to tell.

Situated next to a multi-storey building that hides the sun, it can be a freezing experience in Winter (full gloves, hat and scarves helps).

There's a small "seating" area, though I'd probably call it a supported squatting area, so low are the stools. The first time I went there I noticed former Victorian premier Jeff Kennett and Felicity in tow - must be good to make the journey, given the quality of his local Boroondarah market in Melbourne.

Possibly overall the best fresh food market in Tassie - Hobart's Farm Gate Market in Bathhurst St has more variety of vegetables, though compared to the flat Launceston Market, it can be a struggle to manage the Bathurst St hill - highly recommended.
