Absolute joke
Apr 2021
An absolute joke for a long time now. Ballarat has been in and out of lockdown, yet the markets are never open. Other markets such as the Farmers Markets are regularly open, along with the best market of all, The Daylesford Sunday Market. Why management can't organise an opening rather than twiddling its thumbs is beyond me?

What a joke
Jan 2021 • Couples
Holy cow, what an absolute joke for a place the size of Ballarat. If this was food I would be absolutely not serving thisas up and sending it back. Junk junk and junk. Never again, Haven't been therefore 12 months and the one person I was hoping was there wasn't. If I could give no score at all I would have. We spent a grand total of 15 minutes there and 5 of that was deciding if I was gonna have a Sth Melbourne Dimmie for Breakfast.
Don't bother with it, total waste of time. Absolute disgrace......Really feel for the people trying to make a $$.....

Miss the market
Jan 2020
Stalls selling junk! Very spread out but not worth going unless you want old tools etc. Gold coin donation entry.

What a variety of stalls
Sep 2019
Was nice to walk around all stalls. Was abit cool today but at least no rain. There was a variety of different stalls. Stall holders are friendly. Some food venues too. Will definitely be back when abit warmer.

Fresh veggies
Sep 2019
For a gold coin entry its well worth the savings on fresh fruit and veggies. Even clothing and packs of merino wool socks very cheap....

Rotary Club of Ballarat South - Ballarat Market
Nov 2018
Ballarat Market is a traditional Trash and Treasure Market. It is run by the volunteers of the Rotary Club of Ballarat South
There are many gems at the market, my personal favourites are the "lolly man" - comes every week from Melbourne and here you will get many bargains including a huge range of Dutch sweets and treats. There are plants available year round, types depend on season, great for fresh flowers, vegetable and the honey from daylesford in the top shed.
This market accepts casual stall holders so you never know what treasure you will find. The entry is a gold coin donation but the nature of donation is that it is optional - you can be assured the money goes to improve the lives of others making a difference to many.

Market
Apr 2019 • Family
I enjoyed talking a fast look around the market. Lots of tools for sale along with boots and several other items. There was even some weight lifting competition going on while there. It was a collection of a lot of things people wanted to get rid of. One could cover the market in about an hour. We found parking on nearby streets. Lots of coffee places at the Market and even hot jam donuts.

Casual market with something for everyone. Second hand stuff, collectables, food items and crafts and wares. Get along and support Rotary.

Don't bother
Nov 2018 • Family
Its just a trash and treasure market.
There is plenty of room to have more stalls with homemade goods, but unfortunately there is only a few of these. You could go there for a wander, but I wouldn't bother.

More trash than treasure
Apr 2018 • Couples
This is a large market with more trash and treasure stalls than craft stores. To me it was more trash than treasure though.

There were several food vans and entry was via a gold coin donation.

Nothing that was of interest to me.
