Once completed The Great Stupa of Universal Compassion will be 50 metres (164 feet) wide along each side at its base and nearly 50 metres high. This will make it the largest stupa in the outside of Asia. It is being built near Bendigo, Australia. The Great Stupa is the final home for the largest gem quality Jade Buddha in the world. It is a major domestic and international tourist attraction symbolising Australia's multicultural heritage.

What a magnificent building, I haven't seen anything like it, Grand in all it's glory. No entrance fee however there is Donation boxes around, you will want to give something when you see all the artifacts which are there. Go

The Great Stupa isn't really finished yet and may not truly be finished for a long time to come, but the Buddhists in the region have made a real investment in the future with this place. In time it will become a much bigger deal than it is now. The style is of a monastery that is centuries old, but... More

A lovely place to enjoy some quiet time, solitude, couple time, meditation, spiritual experience. A lovely gift shop with some beautiful items available for sale.

We went here on our last day in bendigo. Although it's still not complete it is quite a site to behold. The staff here are very friendly and know alot about what is going on with the construction. If you got the time, come.

I am not a Buddhist or religious in any way but I try to understand the history and context of the faith and see what makes it so interesting to western minds. The Great Stupa is only about 15 minutes drive from Bendigo but you will need the GPS to get there and best to go in good weather because... More

This is an interesting visit to see what will be the biggest stupa outside of Asia. There is a helpful 5 minute video on arrival and unfortunatley on the day we visited, we were not able to view/tour the incomplete structure. The dimensions are impressive and I would certainly visit again when I'm next in the area.
