This is interesting showing the workings of a huge open cut mining operation in action. All the family should find it interesting and keep in mind the price is right. It is free. All members of my group found it of interest.

Awesome a must to see. Ask when they are blasting and you can go and see the blast. You see the huge machinery working and the trucks bringing up the gold or ore.

Pretty cool lookout. Great that sample parking and that was a flat walk over to the shelter and main vantage point. The local coffee van was also present and a blast was scheduled but be careful - it went off about 5 minutes before the...More

A must see when in Kalgoorlie. The outlook looks into the pit, handy to binoculars or use your phone to zoom in on people and vehicles as you can hardly see the humungous trucks with naked eye.

If your in kalgoorlie this is a must see place. Only few kilomteres out of town but fantastic view. Lots to see at this historic place and lots to read on the information boards that are inside the viewing area.

Yup, it's a big hole in the ground. You can stand on the upper edge and see the teeny tiny trucks go up and down into it. Check with your hotel to see when they're blasting (roughly noonish). It sounds trite, but it's a very...More

Weather caused cancellation yesterday, was able to transfer booking to today in good conditions even though the roads were a bit sloppy for the bus. Our driver / guide Wes was knowledgable and did not rush the tour which went in excess of the 2.5...More

I think you should either contact the SUPER PIT Direct or ring Kalgoorlie visitors centre. From my understanding it is open DAILY but I certainly am not any authority on this!
