Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We came here after an excellent breakfast at the nearby White Elephant Café.
This is the mouth of the Margaret River which leads out into the Indian Ocean. It is fascinating to see the water flow out from the river into the Ocean and then vice versa.
The beach is very clean and appears to be very popular with surfers. There is track which you can walk along, which will take you about three or four hundred meters further up the river.
Definitely recommend this place if you like beaches or would like to see how a picturesque river ends up in the Ocean.

Great spot, very busy. Parking is pretty good, several tarmac parking areas. Parking right at the bottom by river mouth very small can be a walk for some up the hill where additional parking is located. Public toilets available.

Awesome to watch the river meet the ocean. Very windy and cold day but lots of people around and kids and surfers in the water. Good swell, but rough seas dumping lots of seaweed.

The walk around the river mouth is great. You have to take part of the Cape to Cape to get a full view of it but we walked from the carpark down to the river mouth and as far as we could before we would have been scrambling over dunes and restricted areas which we didnt do.Next time we will find a trail and do some more walking. We were restricted on time but do go and see where the river meets the ocean

Where Margaret River meets the sea, the rivermouth is a beautiful location to visit, swim, or just relax on the beach.
Depending on the season the river can break through making the north end inaccessible to some. There is still plenty of beach, rock pools to explore on the south side.
MR Kayaks hires out SUPs, canoes and kayaks, that enable further exploration up river.
Be aware the southwest can experience significant ocean swells and on these days it is best to stick to the river side of the beach if you have young children or are not a strong swimmer.

This is a fabulous place to visit and see where the river meets the ocean. Careful when swimming there but there is a coffee van that is there in the mornings. Such a nice place to visit, grab a coffee, contemplate nature and relax.

As we drive into the car parks and walked along the beach there is a good view of the surfers and wind surfing activities. At the mouth of the river there were people swimming and fishing it an interesting walk so take time to explore the area when visiting Margaret River and Prevelly Beach.

We visited it on a rainy morning. So we just went to the look out. The view is very nice. I like the beach between the sea and the end of Margaret River.

The calm of the river is an amazing dichotomy as compared to the angry sea. Easy to rent canoes at the beach and go up the river for a couple of clicks.

Lovely walk path to Surfers Point. Good parking. Great river area for small children and also good for those not wanting rough surf conditions. All levels.

Yes most definitely. There was a board near the walkway showing species, sizes and bag limits allowed.
There was a man fishing at the mouth of the river while we were there.
