Mammoth is an impressive, gothic-like cave that could easily be described as the perfect home for a caveman. Tours are self-guided with an audio headset and begin via an elevated boardwalk through towering Karri forest. As you journey through the spectacular formations lookout for the carefully lit animal bones and fossils and listen to the stories about extinct animals. Wildflowers are abundant around the precinct from September to November. Located 22km south of Margaret River.

Guided tours are a plague in W.A. but here you’re only forced to get an audio guide, which might contribute to the steep $22.50 price. The audio guide rambles on about a lot of extraneous things so I preferred not to use it, especially when...More

Stunning place to visit. Go with shoes (comfy ones), bring a jumper (caves are cold and humid places) and be prepared to walk up the stairs and down the stairs. Safe and beautiful.

Chose this cave as I am a science teacher and was intrigued by the advertisement of fossils. Was great to see the jaw bone in the cave, however I was hoping there may have been more fossils based on what I read. Was also a...More

This was an unexpected add on to our visit to the Margaret River, but so glad that we made time. The caves are simply stunning and are well worth a visit. There are clearly defined walkways that allow you to see all of the caves...More

I have visited the cave nearest to Caves House in Yallingup in years gone by. My wife and I chose to visit Mammoth Cave during this most recent stay. It offered a self guided tour which we booked through our hotel (Quality Inn/Stay Margaret River)....More

We visited this cave as a bunch of friends, we had a 2 cave pass already purchased. Arrived at the check in section to be hardly greeted by the lady behind the counter.

We had paid our money and were through the turnstile before the Ranger warned that there were quite a few steps. The Princess put on a long face, but with a promise that we would turn back if the going got too tough, she started...More

A well known cave for tourists with a variety of features. Easily accessible from Caves Road with parking available on site. Set in bush with walking trails adjacent that introduce a range of local species and provide information about them. Interesting and worth visiting

My mum and uncle are both 83 and they managed it without a problem. My uncle has hip problems and still was fine. If you take it easy and go slow then it shouldn't be a problem. At the end there are quite a few steps and... More

This is the only cave I did, it's very easy to walk into front part of cave, it's a beautiful cave & you don't have to go in very far to see how beautiful it is. It will take as long as you want it to take from 15mins onwards More

No need to pre book. Look in all the booklets and see whether you can get a discount. You can also get a combined ticket with the other caves which works out cheaper if you want to visit more than one site.
