One of the best attractions in Wanganui. Great for all ages playground by the bird Avery. Winter gardens full of bright flowers all year round. Walk around the lake feed the ducks. The Colourful lights and fountain are a spectacular display at night.

Excellent area for exercise or enjoying the ducks. There's also the Winter Gardens available, as well as an aviary to visit. After that the Funky Duck coffee shop for a cake and coffee to complete visiting an enjoyable part of Wanganui.

The lake always looks good driving past. Good to stop and stroll around. Bird aviaries are interesting.

Mallard & paradise ducks (possibly grey as well, but I wasn’t checking), various geese, rock pigeons, pukekos, black and mute swans, scaups, Australian coots, black shags, little shags, and even a dabchick. Plus the usual garden birds. And there were some beautiful settings to photograph...More

No visit to Whanganui is complete with a stroll around the Lake. Gorgeous (despite occasional flashbacks to my high school cross country).
