We were hoping to visit the museum. It is shut so structural repairs can be carried out. We appreciate these have to be done, but a notice on the information board in the town would be helpful and save people walking up to the museum.

This is a small but interesting museum with lots of Maori photos, a canoe and many other items. It takes less than an hour to tour through. There’s no admission fee but they do accept donations. No photos allowed.

Popped in for the first since this has opened in town. The Museum looks fantastic. Small but perfectly formed and well worth a visit.

We stopped almost on a whim, not even knowing that it was there until we walked past. While the museum is bigger than it looks, it is still a compact museum capable of being visited relatively quickly. We were there for maybe an hour, and...More

We spent more time than we had intended here, as the Museum has a fascinating collection of artefacts and historical information. The building itself is beautifully maintained and a delight to visit.

A good place to learn a bit of history of Wanganui - European settlement. It was interesting. The museum has a good gift shop. Entry is free. An enjoyable interlude !

This is a great place to take the kids for a couple hours during the school holidays. There are activities and a scavenger hunt the kids can do.
