DOC camping site beside the lake, listen to the birdsong and the sea as you take the easy walk by the lake, interesting history here as this was a thoroughfare for travel between Ross and Hokitika along the waterway.

We drove past this but turned back and I am so glad we did. We made a short drive through native bush to the lake with the mountains in the background, stunning scenery.

A bit boring to visit unless planning to stay and bring stuff w you for the lake activities. It had rained the night before and was flooding a bit over there.
