We stumbled across founders after a walk around the area and really enjoyed an hour here. Would highly recommend.

We spent a great day here with our godchildren. Apart from the super buildings, they loved the old plane. The cafe was good, including the lunch special.

An interesting slice of history, with a various replica buildings: general store, fire station, bus depot, etc. Today there was a good fair, for Waitangi Day, with a great festive atmosphere.

Such a great attraction. Old world NZ with a running brewery (cafe) and good kids playground inside. We went for Food Truck Friday (first Friday off every month) and the place was humming. The kids enjoyed it and the adults had a chance to chill in view of the playground. The live music was great too.

An eclectic ensemble of restored buildings, mechanical equipment, fire engines, cranes and ships in bottles! We took the family here during our stay in Nelson and we had an enjoyable afternoon. It was interesting to find out about the development of the area and what life was like. There is a small playground and cafe and plenty of open space... More

Visited here on the bank holiday so unfortunately not all the businesses were open, however was impressed with what we saw. We arrived about 10.30 and it was really quiet, parking is good and free. There are lots of buildings to look inside and view the displays and read about the history. There's a small train that goes through the... More

We walked to the park from the cbd. The park included the Founders brewery and cafe, and cost $15 for a family of up to 5, or $7 per adult. The park includes heritage buildings brought to the site from across the region, some of which now house shops, and some house museum exhibits. We had a lovely walk around,... More

Ok the buildings have been moved from their original locations and reassembled in Founders Park but they all have great character and it's great that they have been put together to give a taste of times past. The entrance is via the Dutch style windmill ($7 adults) and lead on to the old church, town house and livery stables. There... More

Taken by Nelson friends to the Founders Heritage Park and met other friends in the excellent cafe. It is a replica village 1880's to 1930's and very interesting to walk about.
