Views in Hakes Bay

Must see in Hawkes Bay. Marvellous views of the whole bay including Craggy Range vineyard. A bit scary driving to the top. Maybe you could walk if you were really, really fit!!

If your planning on walking up it... It's not quiet worth the effort, better to drive... It's a good view but there's a lot better views in nz... Definitely a good thing to do in this area though....

Te Mata Peak was recommended to us by the staff at our accommodation. It is a windy drive and is narrow so you need to be aware for other vehicles and pedestrians. We went late afternoon and the view was spectacular especially with lights of the towns coming on, we wandered around and took lots of photos. We came back... More

amazing place to see for miles, the road leading up is very windy and can be tricky to negotiate for some just be aware of others on the road as it is narrow

You can drive right up to the top and get to within 20 metres of the trig station, and the view is incredible. The day we were there, the wind gusts were just incredible, it was difficult just walking around. I looked over the side, and there was a long-haired sheep just laying down close to the ground and gave... More

Mind blowing. It is well worth the walk or drive to the summit. The view is simply to die for. There are several walks available of varying lengths and durations. Although we drove up to the summit we got a full 360 degree view of the entire areas. If you're in the area and want the best free thing to... More

Fantastic views overlooking the winery. Great area for walking with lovely restaurant nearby with unparallelled views. Hang gliders congregate at weekends and mountain bikers have a thrill ride down to Havelock North.

Lovely views on not such a good day !!!!! until you get close and see all the rubbish tossed over the edge. What's up that everyone must toss their rubbish over the edge. Is it the lack of bins or is it the mentality of a few. lovely views spoilt by a few.

Awesome views of Hasting and Napier! You can drive all the way to the top or park a little way down and trek up. We've done both, unfortunately the trek was in torrential downpour and crazy winds but it was a great laugh. The views in every direction are great. Check out The beautiful winery at the bottom over the... More
