Love going to the movies here. Has a warm welcoming atmosphere. Get a wine and cheese platter and sit in really comfortable lounges to watch your flick. Also includes a good old fashioned intermission! One of my favourite places to go alone or with friends.

Alert to all wittertainees. Went to see “The Guernsey literary and potato peel pie society” on a wet afternoon. What a little gem, both the film and an amazing tiny little cinema. Mark Kermode would love it.

Our first night visiting Arrowtown we opted on a visit to Dorothy Brown’s cinema - a classic theatre that has been an Arrowtown icon for years. Our movie screened in the Den, the smaller of the 2 theatres and we opted for lounge seating. As...More

We were pleasantly surprised to discover a movie theatre in Arrowtown. It doubles as a bookstore. The decor is well done and the seats are super comfortable.

And I mean the title in the kindest way. We saw two shows on successive nights in the big theatre, and enjoyed it enormously. Big comfortable seats, glass of Laphroaig at my elbow, backpackers lounging around the front in the bean bags, reasonable sound, big...More

Armchair or couch seating, wine and non alcoholic beverages before or during the intermission plus cheese boards make this the most comfortable, relaxing movie experience. Plus there are interesting books on display to browse and purchase.

This is a fabulous little cinema, tucked away down a side street in Arrowtown. There are two cinemas; the main one holds 40 people, and The Den holds just 20. We went to the latter to watch The Darkest Hour. Sitting on a variety of...More

This is a boutique independent cinema with one main screen and another smaller one. What is unusual is that the seating is very comfortable with a little tray between each pair of seats, and there are plenty of chairs and sofas to lounge around in...More

Watching a film in an intimate setting while sitting on a sofa or in a chair under a chandelier while snacking on olives and cheese was pure delight. Can't recommend seeing a movie here highly enough!
