great walk. It would be good if there were some more information about the distance of the walk and the route.

A walking, or biking, track which began life as an access to Wanaka built by Thomas Tobin it is a steady climb from along the Arrow River just outside Arrowtown centre. Reasonable fitness is all you need, plenty of trees to hug and the occasional parting in them as an excuse to take in the view! Spectacular views of Arrowtown... More

Although the locals may walk it in an hour, there and back, we took our time and climbed to the top in 45+ minutes. Our guide map told us there was a steep downhill "sheep" trail behind the bench at the top of the hill. We chose to take it down for an adventure. Although it was steep, rocky and... More

I've been wanting to walk here for a very long time and a friend took me up there. Easy when you park the car closeby. It's a gradual climb but great to get the heart pumping. Not too steep but a good solid walk to the top and amazing views over the Wakatipu basin and beyond.

Arrowtown has many easy hikes or walks you can do. We decided to hike the track called Tobin’s track. It is an easy uphill hike, which takes about 1 hour to get to the top. But once up there, you really get unsurpassed views of Arrowtown and the surrounding mountains. From here, we could also see Lake Wakatipu from a... More

You walk for 35 minutes solidly uphill - same gradient but manageable. At the top is a great viewpoint and then of course, it is a solid downhill. I love mountain biking but I don't think I would want to tackle this to ride unless I had good legs that day! Sheltered so despite the icy frost down at the... More

It is not an easy hike since most of it is an uphill climb. Also if you are doing it on a hot sunny day, be prepared! Definitely take a big bottle of water with you. Views are good but I think you could get similar views if you are driving from wanaka to queenstown through cardrona.

Decided the family needed a bit of rigorous after a week of holidaying with another week to go, so I chose Tobins Track to tackle. Definitely an uphill trek the whole way but you are so rewarded with the views along the way and at the top. My girls (11 & 13yrs) managed the walk although there were a few... More

Like most walks in NZ if they are not on the flat then they can be quite strenuous for those not use to it. This is a good walk for those who would like to do a NZ short track. It starts off easy by the river and then climbs steadily but you are rewarded with great views. Like most... More

Nice gentle climb summits at a vista point that is worth seeing on a clear day. Not technical. Smooth surface.
