Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We spent 3 peaceful days paddling along the Ord river with Go Wild Adventure tours . They had camps set up along the river with gas bbq , shower a toilet and even platforms to put your tent on. They supplied almost everything you need we just had to bring food and clothes pretty much .
Its been our most memorable trip so far on our lap around Oz :)
Thanks Maka and crew.

Really surprised at just how far it is to get to the dam when it's only 32km from the town as the crow flies. But having said that I'm glad we made the effort. Its a sight to see. Had a small lunch at the campsite bar and then back to K-town but not before stopping at the cave with the aboriginal art in. That's a win for geocaching.

Had an amazing full day on the water with these guys. Totally profesional from beginning to end. The Ord River system is a sensitive eco system that is abundant with over 200 bird species, in excess of 30 fish and fresh water shell fish and numerous species of marsupials and reptile. These guys will squeeze all this in and more.

We did a Triple J tour of the Old River. We were informed of the history and the agriculture of the Ord. You can take a boat or a small plane/helicopter to see the Ord. There is much agriculture on the banks of the river. Fresh water crocs and plenty of birdlife to see. A lovely experience

I'm trying to find the Ord River Houseboats as a separate business - no luck.
I do want to rate it however - because it was excellent.

We spent 3 nights on the boat.
It has - 2 bedrooms, toilet, shower, living room, air conditioning, to, DVD, kitchenette.
Upstairs is a very large covered area and second set of boat controls.

The river is pretty spectacular. You get to travel at your own pace, Moore at one of 2 spectacular locations.

This part of the river is below the Argyle spillway and above the Kununurra spillway. It takes about 4 hours to travel the full length.

They say that the river has fresh water crocs. We didn't get to see any, probably just as well, we did go swimming. They also patrol for salties.

Advice for the boat - listen to the instructions, it's a pretty big vessel and it's quite fast running water. I have a skippers ticket, while you don't need one to drive this boat, some experience would be good. Keep an eye out for shallow water and for reeds - the guy will give you some clues as to where to look. They say to shut the doors and turn off outside lights as soon as the sun goes down - good advice - the bugs come think and fast, but are not interested when there are no lights.

Stars are spectacular after sundown and with no lights happening.

The company only has one boat, but if you get the chance to ride it - take it, you won't regret it.

Cruising the Ord river in a power boat, upstream of Kununurra must be on your list of best things to do in the Kimberley. Magical ochre cliffs surround you like a roofless tunnel, wading birds, crocs, wallabies and bats add to the wild flavour of the valley. Clear, cool water flows strongly down to the Diversion Weir and is lined with myriad tropical trees, bushes, reeds and floating flowers. If you're brave you can even take a dip in the shallows- the Captain will watch out for crocs! But go before end of September.

Just had a fantastic day cruising on both Lake Argyle and Lake Kununurra/Ord River. From the pickup by Josh at 8.00am in Kununurra, through to a visit to the historic Durack Family Homestead, 3 hour lunch cruise with Mark and Katie on Lake Argyle, and finally to the exhilarating trip down the 55kms of the Ord River with Dylan, there is not one part of this tour that you could fault in any way. It was a fantastic day and we strongly recommend it!

Went to Lake Argyl Camping ground to visit the Ord River Dam. A little out of our way but what a great experience. The scenery was breath taking. We booked a River Cruise (sunset cruise) which was 4hrs long. So glad we did thoroughly enjoyed it and our guide "Matt" was excellent. This place is like a jewel in a crown. It's a must visit with friendly staff to Greet you, and fab food afterwards. It also has a lovely camp ground with a great pool.
